Did you know that Project Run and Play has a line of children’s patterns? Their patterns are released as collaborative collections that include options you can mix and match to create an entire season’s wardrobe for your child. Their latest release, Project Smooth Sorbet, includes a total of eleven patterns for tops, bottoms, outerwear, and accessories!
I sewed three of the patterns to create coordinating outfits for our twins.
I made the Fragola Dress for Wonder Girl. For Boy Wonder, I chose the Parfait Polo coupled with shorts from the Limone Loungewear pattern.
It has pockets!! Wonder Girl loves pockets! Who doesn’t love pockets? The Fragola pattern has multiple options to create tops and dresses of various lengths with and without ruffles, and you could choose to skip the pockets. Why would you do that, though?
I adore the sweetness of this dress with the ruffled shoulder option! You can make the Fragola with a sleeveless finish, though, for a less fussy look.
The dress fastens in the back with a simple button or snap placket. The cotton woven fabric that I pulled from my overflowing quilting stash was perfect for this dress, and I have plenty more where that came from. I have plans to add several more of these to Wonder Girl’s wardrobe for the summer. She lives in dresses, and this one is just her style!
The Limone Loungewear and Parfait Polo patterns also have multiple options that won’t leave you disappointed! There are so many ways you can put these two choices to work in your child’s wardrobe. They work well for both boys and girls, too!
Because cotton pique – traditional polo fabric – is difficult to find locally, I grabbed a few polos that my husband no longer wears to upcycle. This finished top looks so impressive. I was surprised by how easy it was to sew! I will definitely be making more of these for all of my boys.
The small details are what make this polo! From the curved hem, to the back yoke, to the side vent – no detail was overlooked.
When he saw that I was upcycling for the top, my husband offered up a pair of khakis bound for the donation pile to use for the shorts! The Limone shorts were a quick sew with a unique look that isn’t boring or blah. They’re comfortable with an elastic waist and an optional drawstring. And, not surprisingly, Boy Wonder’s favorite part of his new shorts is … the pockets! These two are four, and life is all about what they can collect throughout their day. Checking pockets is at the top of my pre-laundry list!
The design of the pockets makes them perfect for adding a sweet surprise fabric to the inside! This little hidden detail makes me smile every time I see it!
The Project Smooth Sorbet Pattern Collection is the perfect choice for sewing a complete summer wardrobe for your kids. You can find it right here! The patterns are all PDF downloads. Each clothing pattern includes a wide range of sizes. The accessories are adorable! There are even digital graphic downloads included! You really don’t want to miss it. (There are lots of other collections in the PR&P shop, too. Be sure to take a peek at them while you’re there!)

I’ll wrap up with my “secret” to getting these two non-stop kiddos to stand still for photos. It’s lollipop bribery! Since we wrapped up this photo shoot, they’ve been asking non-stop to go take “Lollipop Pictures”. The jury is still out on whether or not that’s a good thing!
Hi Bonnie,
I own The Going to Lunch Bag pattern.
I was in the middle of making it, when I failed
to notice that the blew the pattern off my table
and my dog chewed it. I lost page 4
(there’s no number on the page, but I do have
1, 2 and 3, so presume it’s 4)
and so much of it is gone that I can’t figure out
how to complete the corners that the bag sits on.
Is it possible for you to send just that page, please ?
I would deeply appreciate it!
Thank you in advance,
Cheryl Goldenberg
