It wasn’t made of fabric but of wood. The best handmade gift was a blanket chest, given to us as a wedding gift from my husband’s grandfather. One of last things he made before his health diminished.

My grandma gave my toddler a knitted blanket last year for Christmas. Apparently, my great grandma had started on it before she died years ago & my grandma finished it. My daughter will never know her great great grandma here on this earth, but it’s so special to have something that she made.

My family is truly gifted and I have received many handmade gifts over the years. One of my favorites was a bulky, heavy crocheted sweater my mom made for me, actually made one for each of us (siblings) that year. It was incredibly warm, and very lovely. There have been others, but this is the most memorable. Now I make knitwear and more for friends and family.

Good luck to all, I’d love to be the winner as my sewing machine died some time ago and sewing is piling up!!

My friend in Japan always sew me items made with airplane fabrics that she looks for just for me. Her packages are always wrapped super fun with washi tape and other fun kawaii goodies. A delight to open.
