Wow! Just over a year of blogging, and I’ve reached my 100th post! I love sharing my family, my ministry and my sewing with each of you, and I especially enjoy hearing from you and getting to “know” each of you. It’s exciting to watch how my number of blog readers is continuing to increase. (Of course, our family size is increasing a bit, too, as you can tell by the size of my belly in the picture to the right.) Christmas is quickly approaching, so I want to offer a gift to each of you, a chance to win an even bigger gift and the opportunity to know the joy of giving something to a family in need.
First, a way for you to give a gift to a poor family in Asia and maybe even mark off a few names on your Christmas list at the same time: Having trouble coming up with a gift idea for that relative who already has everything? Perhaps a gift in his or her honor for the poor in another country would be the perfect thing! As Gospel for Asia staff members, my husband and I often get to hear the incredibly heart-warming stories of how blessed people are to receive the gifts given through the GFA Christmas Catalog. Because I love to sew, the ability to give the gift of a sewing machine to a poor family in Asia brings me great joy! You can read for yourself a few stories on the GFA website about how much the gift of a sewing machine can help out a family in need: Christmas Gifts Warm Body and Heart and Stitching Her Garments with a Grateful Heart. If you’d like to check out how you can give a sewing machine, or other gifts like chickens, blankets, even a water buffalo, visit GFA’s Christmas Catalog online.
Second, a gift for all of my readers: This week only, from November 30th through December 6th, you can use the code “BlogPost100” in my store to receive a 15% discount on any pattern order. I’m even adding a preorder option for the new Little One Jammies Pattern which should be ready to ship by Monday, December 7th.
Finally, the big giveaway! In celebration of my 100th post, I am giving away a full set of all eight of my patterns and 5 yards of knit fabric to sew into beautiful clothing for your little one. The winner will get to choose from one of the two sets of fabric shown–either the boys’ set or the girls’ set.
For your first entry into the drawing, just leave a comment on this post with which of my patterns you like the best and why, or leave a comment about which of my patterns you’d most like to try and why. For an additional entry, blog about this post or blog about GFA’s Christmas catalog and email me the link to your post. You can enter anytime between now and noon central time on Friday (December 4, 2009). (Please note that I will cover the postage if the winner is inside the US. If you win and you live outside of the US, you’ll need to cover any postage cost above $10.)
Okay, I’ll go first. I love your Emmy Dress pattern the most b/c it fits well and is easy to construct. Oh, and my DD looks so cute in it. Thanks for being such a sweet Mama!
Christin (LSUTiger2002, DSD)
Bonnie, I can’t tell you how much I love to read your blog and I couldn’t decide on 1 pattern of yours even if I had to. Your work is fantastic and you are such a great mom. The kids are great looking. I like the comment about your oldest sons t-shirt.
I adore all of your patterns, right now our favorite is the Patrick Raglan, it’s so nice to have a cute BOY pattern. We also get a ton of use out of the AJ bottoms.
Hi Bonnie, I’m jengi33 from DSD and I love your patterns, although the only one I’ve used so far is the layette! Both the Emmy and the Patrick are on my wish list! Going to post on my blog now!!

Hi Bonnie! Its Sheila from DSD (not shesheshee the other one! LOL) Can I just say, You are an incredible woman! Ok, now that that’s done. I think of all your patterns I’d LOVE to try the Emmy Dress big girl. I’ve never sewn from one of you patterns but I did buy a pair of trainers from you once that my DD LOVED!!!
Anyway, Thanks for all you do, expecially your work for Jesus!
Bonnie this just shows how super sweet you are to be giving all your patterns and the fabric away! WOW What a generous prize! You are such a talented person to come up with some beautiful patterns and the directions make them so easy to use!
I have loved the things I’ve seen sewn with your little ones layette pattern. They look so well fitted, and finish out nicely!!
Gina (mamaginabean) says
My favorite pattern is the newest one- the Jamie Jammies for the bigger kids. Of course, my favorites change depending on my mood and who I’m sewing for- I love the little Jamie pattern for jammies for the n00b;)
Grandma G says
All your patterns look great! I guess I’d try the Emmy Shirt & Dress first, since I have a toddler granddaughter.
Alexa Allison says
I love your new Little One Layette pattern! I sure hope I win!
I love the Emmy dress! It’s a wardrobe staple! So cute & goes together quickly with a great fit.
I LOVE the Patrick Raglan (only one I have so far), but I think I’ll also equally love the Little One Jammies too! Congrats on your 100th post 🙂
Hi Bonnie! It’s jillybean7681 from DSD. I’ve only got the Emmy dress but I love it! Lucy has several in her wardrobe. I’m off to buy the LOL right now so that the new baby will be as well dressed as Lucy 🙂
I only have the Patrick Raglan right now, but I LOVE it! The fit is great–and I love that it works for boys and girls. My son has 4 of them that I’ve made, and they are worn weekly, and he keeps asking for more! Thanks for all your harwork, and the amazing patterns Bonnie!
So far I’m loving the two patterns I have- Emmy and Little One Layette. The LO Layette is my current favorite, I’ve made over 10 items using this pattern in the last month alone! Love it!!!!
I just found your site through a friend who shared about the giveaway. I know my dds would love the Emmy shirts!
Here is the link to my post on Xanga.
I’ve sewn patterns from about every manufacturer, and all the “big” named pattern magazines, but your Layette pattern is one I still swoon over. It’s so perfect – and yet straightforward.
Kim (camsmama) says
Congrats on your new pattern! I’ve been wanting to buy your Emmy pattern for a long time & hope to do so this week. That style of shirt is so cute on my little girl & I love that you can use woven fabrics with it.
Bonnie, I love your Emmy pattern! It’s so quick and fun to sew and there are so many options that can be made with it. I’m having a hard time not filling DD’s closet with Emmy tops and dresses. 🙂
Mama Lusco says

I blogged about your giveaway here: http://luscofamily.blogspot.com/2009/11/great-giveaway.html
I think all of your patterns are wonderful and would be honored to try any one of them out. 🙂 They are all so nice and practical.
I love the Emmy pattern! It’s a great pattern because it goes together quickly, and you can use both wovens and knits!!
I don’t have any of your patterns, but I have been eyeing the Patrick raglan because I want to make some cute shirts with the fabric I have at home. 🙂 and the little one layette for my unborn. What a great giveaway! Thanks.
I’m fairly new to your blog and really want to try the AJ Bottoms pattern because finding pants to fit over cloth diapers is quite a challenge!
Marianne Ogg says
I’ve been following your blog for some time now, and I love it! I really would love to try the new Jammies pattern for 18months -5T. I have a one year old and that seems like a dream to make those for him!
Do I qualify???? Do I, do I??? My fave pattern is the trainer pattern, cuz it made me money! 😛 Actually, I really like the Emmy. hee hee!
I love the Patrick Curved Reglan pattern. It is so fast to sew and looks great. My dad couldn’t believe that I made it when I showed him one I made for DS. I can’t wait until the new Jammies pattern comes out too. I love the look and that I’m able to make matching jammies for the kids.
Godink from DSD – I haven’t tried any yet, but I can’t wait until the new jammies pattern comes out for the bigger kids. I’ve seen all the raves about the smaller ones, and can’t wait to put my Lily in some.
My favorite pattern, well favorite2 are the Little One Layette and the newest one, the Little One Jammies. I’ve made matching Jammies for my boys and will be making some more matching ones for my cousins boy and my sisters boy and soon to be born baby boy as well. Thanks for doing this, you are too sweet.
Shaymom from DSD here just want to say that your stuff makes me drool a little when I see it in SNS’s. I would love to try all your patterns but alas must wait till after X-mas. The Emmy looks like it could be my favorite and would be the first i would buy but it is so hard to chose.
What a wonderful offer you are giving to some lucky person!
I haven’t tried any of your patterns or sewing with knits yet. This would be an awesome way to try 🙂
Charlene lee says
I haven’t tried any yet, but I would really like to try the little undies, My DD just potty learned and I think she would love some mama made undies 🙂
I love the Emmy top. My little girls love that style of tops. What a great give away for your 100th! I am drooling over your fabric photo. So much fun fabrics.
Bonnie, all your patterns look wonderful. I’ve just ordered a couple of them so I’ll have to let you know in a bit which one I LOVE the most 🙂
What a wonderful giveaway! Thank you!
Bonnie, I have a few of your patterns on order & can’t wait till they arrive! I really want to try the emmy pattern (that’s what I call my DD#2). Thanks for offering this!!!
Jennifer H says
My favorite pattern is the Little One Layette – it fits my daughter just perfectly and it is so quick to sew up. I’d love to try the Patrick Raglan in big kid sizes for my son, especially now that there is the hoodie tutorial. He would love about a dozen of those!
Amy Bruening says
I’m in love with the Emmy shirt! My niece is named Emmy and would triple love a shirt like it! What a fun site you have! Thanks for offering the contest!
Bonnie, you are always so generous and have such a giving heart! I don’t have a fav of your patterns because I like them all!! I use the Emmy, Patrick Raglan and Little Fishies the most; I love the versatility the patterns provide. They all sew up quickly and fit great.
What a sweet idea! Thanks for the GFA link…
It’s hard to pick a favorite pattern, because I love the looks of all of them. I haven’t bought any yet, but I plan to – they all look great!
Wow, that is one generous giveaway! And I’m glad that you promoted GFA, that is awesome! I think I would love to try the Sammi Grace bag pattern the most, because I can use it right now. I would also like to try the layette pattern, but I want to wait until I have kids (or at least I am prego) for that one. And for the fabric – I would love the boy fabric, because a good friend just had a boy and I can make him something. Thanks so much!
I’m so glad you make patterns for boys; they are so hard to find. I’m loving the Patrick raglan, and would love to make it for my little guy.
What an awesome giveaway!!! You are so sweet and I love reading your blog. The pattern I would most love to try is the Patrick Curved Raglan. I think all of my kids would love for me to make them shirts like that. Money has been tight, but it is on my wish list. Take care.
You’re going to make me choose a pattern that i love?!?! Well the layette and the jammies pattern are my favorite (for now) as Avi loves to wear matching jammies with his sister!
Jamie B says
Okay, where’s the bag over the head smilie when I need it! I’ve admired all the SNS posts on DSD of our patterns and have purchased the Emmy and the Patrick–oh, and downloaded the instructions to turn it into a hoodie…someday! I don’t yet have a favorite, but as my babies are getting bigger (and bigger and bigger) I can’t wait for the bigger jammies pattern to come out!
The Emmy dress is really cute, thanks for the generous giveaway!
I just have a few of your patterns but I love the way they sew up! I think my favorite right now is your Little Fishies undies — they sew up quick & DD likes them a lot! 🙂 Looking forward to your new pattern!
Beatrix from Kindershop says
What a generous giveaway. Congratulations on reaching 100 posts!
I would love to try your little undies pattern. I have two girls that are in the process of potty training right now, and some special new personal undies may speed up the process 🙂
This looks like a great giveaway!
I’m torn between the Patrick curved raglan and the undies. The undies are just so cute, but I think the shirt pattern would be more practical.
Thanks for the giveaway!

I love the little one layette pattern. I want to try the raglan shirt pattern and the pajama pattern, too. Just waiting to free up some money after Christmas so I can go pattern shopping! Your belly is looking so cute!
The Emmy dress is awesome, I haven’t made any patterns yet, but love the design. Hope to get some soon, your patterns are very well tailored and the boys looks are great too.
All of you patterns look adorable. I’m especially fond of the Little Fishies Undies. I feel like my DS (age 3) gets left out a lot while I’m sewing a bunch of dipes for DD (5months). I think he’d love some undies made by Mommy. 🙂 Can’t wait for Christmas money!
Deb D says
I love the Emmy Shirt & Dress Home Sew Pattern – it’s exactly the kind of outfit my kids love to wear for their every day jaunts!
I love the Emmy shirts & dress pattern, looks so comfortable…

I would love to try the Emmy shirt and dress for my daughter…so cute. I was just looking at it the other day!
Oh, Bonnie, you are such a sweet, sweet, mama! My current favorite pattern of yours is the Patrick Raglan. I can use it for all of my kids! The boys love them, and I can use it for ODD as is, and I’ve also added length and flared it out for nightgowns and dresses, added pouch pockets, and have plans to make hooded versions too. It’s just incredibly versatile!
Laura (lilbeanbaby) says
Awwww! such a generous giveaway! I haven’t tried any of your patterns yet, but have been eyeing the Little One Layette pattern since I saw the first testers on DSD. 🙂
I am just learning to sew for my girls and would love to try your pattern for the Emmy shirt and dress. The fabrics are super cute too.

Your work is amazing and you are such a generous women. I have three of your patterns and love them all I do not think I could choose just one. I usually make an Emmy for DD and a Patrick for DS at the same time to keep it even. I actually have a few cut out now waiting to be sewn for Christmas gifts.
Ivy from DSD says
Oh my goodness Bonnie, this is an incredibly generous giveaway!!!
I have been eyeing the patrick raglan shirt pattern for ages, not to mention most of your patterns!
I love your layette 🙂 but they’re all so beautiful 🙂
Not entering, just telling you that I love your patterns. They are super awesome.
I love the Little One Layette pattern. Two reasons, really: 1) it’s most applicable, as my little one is just the right size, and 2) I’ve wanted to make one for awhile but thought that it sounded quite hard, so a thorough pattern is just what I need!
WOW! You are very generous! That is AWESOME! My fav pattern is the Emmy top… classic!
Oh I like the undies pattern. Great layout and easy to understand. (I haven’t tried the Raglan yet…soon) I really want the Jammies pattern because I have 2 boys to make them for! I"m so glad it is almost out. Hugs 😉
I’d try the sammi grace- pattern, because it looks easy enogh for me.
With two boys, I love the patrick raglan pattern. Especially since it’s cute for my girl too!!

I would love to try your little one layette patterns or your hoodie patterns. My boys love their sweatshirts. And I love to try the sammi grace pattern
What a generous giveaway! I don’t currently own any of your patterns, but I like the look of the new Jammies pattern. Anything that has extra room in the bahookey built in for cloth diapers is a winner in my book.
Also, thanks for the link to GFA. I’ve definitely got some family members who don’t need any more “stuff” but would appreciate others receiving needed items in their name.
Thanks for the info about GFA. I will definitely check it out some more. It’s always nice to see where Christians are reaching the World!
My favorite of your patterns would be the Little One Layette. It’s just too bad that my littlest one is a little too big for it now. But I do have a nephew…
how can one choose? they are all so great! please don’t make us choose. pleaseee! eheheh
I would love to try the little fishes undies pattern because I have two little ones almost ready to be potty trained.

I would love to try the Patrick Curved Raglan pattern! I love the way it looks and I love that’s it so versatile for girls and boys (I have one of each)!!! I have not done a shirt (w/ knits) so this would be something new for me. Thank you for the opportunity to be entered into your drawing!
I love the emmy pattern. love it, love it, love it! Can’t say anything more about it!
Nikki Rainey says
I love the Emmy shirt and dress pattern. I have two girls one age 4 and the other 11 so this pattern would be great to make them matching tops. I love to do that. I also like the pattern because that is the name of my youngest. It is just spelled different. The bag pattern also looks fun to try as well.
I just found your blog and patterns through the SMS giveaway. I like the newborn layette most – maybe because I’d like to sew it for a friend’s newborn. Congratulations for all your patterns.
Love your patterns – love your creativity and especially your generousity

First let me say that I love your blog. Not only do I love seeing all your lovely projects, but I enjoy seeing your happy family with your wholesome family values!
My favorite pattern would probably be for your child training pants (I can’t remember what you call them). I’ve always been a little skeptical of home made undies and diapers, but I’m willing to learn!
I am expecting my first child and happened upon your blog while looking for diaper patterns. The layette pattern is adorable and I can’t wait to make some!
so tough to decide. I have a little boy and a little girl that I would love to make jammies for, and all those fabrics are SO cute! But I think I will choose the girly ones! Also, I really love your layette pattern and the Emmy shirt & dress patterns!
The Emmy dress catches my eye because I have two little girls that I will hopefully have the time to start sewing for soon! What a fun 100th post giveaway!

Hard to choose just one to try…I’ve not made clothing out of knit before, but the fabrics you are giving away sure make it tempting! Would love either the Emmy shirt/dress for big girls, or the boys raglan for little boys. I’d choose the boy stack of fabrics for my year old grandson!
What an awesome giveaway! I’ve been eying you pattern for the raglan t-shirt for awhile now! I’ve got 3 little boys that I’d love to make matching shirts for!
I have never sewn anything from your patterns yet, but I keep seeing them pop up in various blogs and on flickr. I am drawn to the curved raglan shirt and the undies pattern. The patterns keep getting rave reviews, and I’d like to use one soon.
pick just one and tell you? if i had to pick one, i would chose the raglan shirt. i have so many little friends that i could use it for…girl or boy. it is just an all around nice looking pattern and i would love to try it! i am sure my little girl would look great in it.
I love the Patrick Curved Raglan – mostly because you give instructions on making it a hoodie! Nice giveaway. Thanks!
i would love to try the raglan tees, with 6 kids and #7 on the way i can see how this would be so verstile to sew some tees for my children 🙂
looking forward to also getting the jammie pattern 🙂
its great to hear abotu your work as well. love your blog!

I like the look of your little one layette! I struggle to find good winter suits for my toddlers
I like to try the Patrick raglan shirt. Nice patterns!

Hi, I’ve actually just started reading your blog. I mostly knit, but in the summers I turn in my needles for my sewing machine. So I haven’t made any of your patterns but I think I would most like to make the baby layette. I enjoy your blog for many reasons but mostly because it is so Christ filled and those kinds of blogs are hard to find and two you have a large family too. I’m expecting my fifth child this March/April. Congrats on your new baby and Merry Christmas.
I can’t wait to get me hands on your Jamie Jumper pattern! I have very large boys for such "little" guys.
