The Jersey Love Blog Tour Day #7

Posted on August 22, 2013 by Bonnie

The Jersey Love Blog Tour is speeding along! We’re all the way up to Day 7! Today, Laura from Crafty Hour and Suzanne from Winter Wonderings . . . Wanderings and Whatnot are each sharing TWO Jersey Love patterns sewn with Riley Blake’s Jersey Basics. (Between the two blog posts this morning, you’ll get to see all four Jersey Love patterns — how cool is that?)I started following Suzanne from W3 when she competed in Season 6 of Project Run & Play. I fell in love with the clothing that she designed for her twin boys! I think my favorite was the Collegiate Cool Look — love those red pants! Wait, though, maybe my favorite was Elephant Shoes? That hand-stamped elephant fabric is amazing! I also think it’s amazing that through the use of upcycled, donated and stashed fabric, Suzanne kept her PR&P spending under $20 for the entire season: The Cost of Competing! Suzanne sews for her daughter, too, and she has the cutest new tutorial for a dress made from cloth napkins: The Crumbcatcher Dress. She even occasionally sews something awesome for herself like this Ariadne (Not-a-Potato-Sack) Top.For the blog tour, Suzanne sewed two Downtown V-Necks and a pair of Runaround Pants for her boys. Laura is a long-time online friend who I met while sewing cloth diapers for my now 6-year-old. Laura’s blog, Crafty Hour, is only about a year old, and she’s doing amazing things with it! Laura makes beautiful quilts, like this Flannel Rail Fence Quilt and this Disappearing Nine Patch (a collaboration with several other quilters), both sewn as donations for her local Pregnancy Care Centre. Laura sews the sweetest outfits, like this Bubble Dress and this Piped Pocket Skirt, for her two-year-old daughter, Abigail. She also shares some brilliant ideas for fun kid stuff — be sure to check out the Curious Benjamin Birthday Party. And, Laura’s building a collection of great tutorials which include these very cool Quick Quilted Coasters and this Lined Zipper Pouch. For the blog tour, Laura sewed a Beachcomber Dress and a Carnival Skort! To see both of them, just click on the sneak peek picture.
